How to File a Bus Windscreen Insurance Claim in NZ
Filing a windscreen insurance claim for your bus is straightforward if you know the steps. Here is a simple guide covering the major New Zealand insurers.
Step 1: Check Your Policy Coverage
Most comprehensive vehicle insurance policies cover windscreen and glass replacement. Check your policy documents or call your insurer to confirm. If you only have third-party cover, glass replacement is usually not included.
Step 2: Document the Damage
Take clear photos of the damaged glass from multiple angles. Note the date, time and location of the damage. This helps if the insurer asks for evidence.
Step 3: Contact Your Insurer or Us
You have two options:
- Call your insurer first β report the damage and ask for a claim number. Then call us with the claim number and we handle the rest.
- Call us first β on 09 972-1091. We can help you start the claim and often know the fastest route with each insurer.
Step 4: We Replace and Invoice
We come to your bus anywhere in Auckland, replace the glass to manufacturer spec, and send the invoice directly to your insurance company. You usually only pay your excess (if any).
